Surfing has never been this fun and budget-friendly! With the
advent of cheap
flights within the USA, surfers from all over the world can
easily tag their friends or family. Edgewater Park offers an array
of adventure possibilities for everyone.
GENERAL This is only one of at least 4 surfable spots
in the area (including Mentor). It has a tiny sandy beach and it's
very close to downtown. Erie is the shallowest of the Great Lakes
and has the warmest water. It'll need a fair bit of wind or stormy
weather to break, so depending on the season, you'll be needing a
wettie! And most definitely a Longboard, the bigger the better.
(Deep winter is only for the seriously surf-starved or
madly-addicted; the Few, the Brave, the Frozen. Watch out for
icebergs.)
SPOT RATING: 3*** (1- not so okay, 2-okay, 3-cool,
4-very cool, 5-the ultimate spot) I rate it a 'cool' 3 for
existing. Cleveland Rocks! Go to the forum and rate this spot
